I'm hoping that this game will springboard Malkin a little bit more into the offense, in a statistical way. He's been everywhere but hasn't put up much by way of numbers yet. Hopefully, Bennett can also get on the board a bit too. They both made some outstanding plays in the last couple games. I'd like to see Duper pot one too. He's worked hard but hasn't been rewarded yet.

If tonight's game doesn't get Malkin going, tomorrow should. He own (ooownnnsss) the Lightning.

Tonight has to be Zatkoff's night, right?

I'm still counting the ways in which Shero won the Whitney trade.

In the end, Whitney has fallen apart (partially due to injury problems) in the past few years and become a journeyman, while Kunitz has been a top line winger with both Sid and Malkin (at times). And while Tangradi never panned out in Pittsburgh, he still brought a late-round draft pick in a trade, which is about all that Whitney would be worth by himself at this point.

As disappointing as Eric Tangradi has been, at this point I'd rather have him on my team than Ryan Whitney.

I don't disagree. While he's not exactly a contributor and has his own patented version of laziness, he's not the liability on the ice that Whitney is.

Guess who scored again.
Guess who has twice as many goals as Geno.
Guess who is the most impactful player in the history of pro hockey.
The answer is all the same.
Shero really messed this up.

I would think so. Give Fleury a break after 3 straight starts and a team that is the weaker of the two on the trip.

Hey Gunner, vets can help but many if not most are well past prime.

Hence the many last place predictions for them, although in hindsight Buffalo is the most likely candidate for last place.

Malkin with at least 5 points in the next two games is a safe assumption.

If Cooke was on the team still, the Pens would be 4-0, even though they've only played 3 games.

Parise and Suter said they had an idea that Cooke would be signing there eventually, and that's what made their decision to sign in Minn such an easy one...

Cooke decided since he went to Minnesota that he can now be the point producer and playmaker he was born to be. He just wanted to stay humble and never overshadow Crosby or Malkin...

With the way Jokinen is playing you're probably right

If nothing else, he'll at least be a tremendous decoy

Malkin drew 2 players to him and left jokinen wide open for a shot. Same thing on his first goal, people were flocking to Sid and geno and jokinen skated right in front of the net for a nifty move and goal. Although Malkin isn't scoring, he's responsible for jokinen getting his many quality chances. Don't forget his bar ringer for the first shot last game.

Malkin is creating for others, just like he always does. It's why he is amongst the best.

Did you see Gabriel Landeskog's perfect response to an internet tough guy trolling him about not fighting Lucic last night? Awesome lol

@patsfan181979: @GabeLandeskog92 ur a (frank)ing wussy...guess lucic is too much for u

@GabeLandeskog92: Yes he sure is, I'm sure you could take him tho?

I liked Patrick Roy's response too.

First of all we don’t have anything to prove fighting with him,” he said. “I don’t believe fighting is that important in our game. And at the same time I mean, there’s no need for Gabe to go into the box for 10 minutes or 15 minutes. We need him on the ice. He’s one of our best players, and I thought that was smart of him.”

I really like the make up of that Colorado team. They're going to be the powerhouse everyone expected the Oilers to become.

Also, if anyone lives in Detroit, hates Verlander and doesn't mind the possibilty of jail time pm me.
